The motor installation is almost completed. The timber parts need a coat of varnish and the piece of cardboard protector needs to be replaced with a piece of hard rubber sheet.
Meanwhile, I started to make a piece of furniture for the companion way. This table/seat will hook over the companion way flange, and a fold-out leg will support it on the ‘bridge deck’. It will be used as a seat with a cushion (looking forward, with the feet in the cabin), as a table when sitting outside (resting against the rear cabin), or as a place for the cooker (when inside the cabin). The seat/table is ~20″ wide and ~12″ deep. The frame is made from Celery Top Pine, and the 6 mm plywood panel is set into a groove (dado). The whole thing is glued together with thickened epoxy.
